Meet Tom Bowering (Chiropractor)
Tom left school in pursuit of a career in professional cycling. From the age of 15, he started pursuing a dream to race across the world with the hope of making it big. He was very lucky to be able to make his way up the rankings in the UK, racing at a national and international level, from the UK, Europe, and the Americas.
But back in January of 2018, Tom was knocked off his bike whilst sitting at some traffic lights, preventing him from being able to lift his leg. He went through many different avenues to get on top of his problem and get back to what he loved. Unfortunately, 6 months passed with no measurable change to his symptoms, and he unfortunately decided to back off the racing for the time being. However, a chiropractor was able to alleviate his symptoms completely in a matter of 8 weeks, He then tried for qualification in the Welsh track team ahead of the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
However, due to his fitness and a short time frame, he wasn’t successful in getting into the team. He decided shortly after in September of 2018 to train to become a chiropractor himself, training in Mctimoney, diversified, and zone techniques. Tom is currently training for the ICSC (International Certificate of Sports Chiropractic) with prospects of working on the athletes he wanted to race against.
“That athlete feeling shouldn’t be just for the fit, I’m a firm believer that chiropractic isn’t just brilliant for athletes and achieving their goals, but should be taken on by all so that everyone can achieve that world-class feeling of fitness and health”.
